The Water Resources Project - Identifying Water Resources in Olmsted County

Stormwater Speaker Series

The goal of the Water Source Project is to identify the water source for each residential and business address in Olmsted County. Knowing water sources is especially critical during emergency responses. Each address is linked to the Unique# of a well contained in the online Minnesota Well Index (MWI) or to a community water supply. If the address is served by a private well not currently in the MWI, information is gathered on the well location and construction. Sources of well information include County records, contact with well owners, and if needed, site visits.
