Rochester Fire Department Life-Saving Efforts Ceremony

On Thursday, March 29, on the EOC level of Fire Station 2 (2185 Wheelock Dr. NE), the Rochester Fire Department will hold an awards ceremony for members of the department who performed exceptionally on emergency scenes in the past several months. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Among those being honored are RFD crews who made life-saving efforts on fire scenes and medical calls, including some who resuscitated patients in cardiac arrest. Two crews will be awarded for their work at an apartment fire, where they rescued an occupant from a second-story window using a ladder. Two other firefighters will be honored for rendering aid to victims of a vehicle crash while off duty.

Rochester Firefighters respond to more than 10,000 calls for service annually and provide exceptional service to our city’s citizens and visitors on a daily basis. Please join us as we celebrate our Firefighters who have gone above and beyond in their service in the past two years.
