DESCRIPTION:<p>The City of Rochester is hosting this in-person session to share information and gather feedback on a potential natural gas franchise fee.</p><p>A natural gas franchise fee is a charge paid by the natural gas company for using public rights-of-way, such as streets and sidewalks, to deliver natural gas service. The City is exploring whether a natural gas franchise fee could be an appropriate tool to help support local programs and services that benefit residents, renters, businesses, and the broader community.</p><p>During this session, City staff will:</p><ul>    <li>Provide a clear overview of what a natural gas franchise fee is (and what it is not)</li>    <li>Explain why the City is exploring this option</li>    <li>Share the types of fee structures being considered</li>    <li>Discuss how potential revenue could be used</li>    <li>Answer questions and listen to community perspectives</li></ul><p>This session is informational and exploratory. No decisions have been made. Community input will help inform City leaders as they evaluate next steps.</p><p>The session will include a brief presentation followed by time for questions, comments, and discussion.
