As part of our Comprehensive Pavement Management Program, the City of Rochester’s Public Works Department has identified 1st Avenue NE from 14th St to 16th St a roadway that needs to be rehabilitated within the next couple of years. Our Engineering Division is beginning to gather data and information such as geotechnical, drainage, and utility data. We’ll begin survey of the roadway and other features this winter as weather allows. As we begin developing preliminary design concepts we’d like to hear from you, the property owners that abut and use this street, about deficiencies and opportunities to improve the operation and use of the public right-of-way. A portion of the costs of a street rehabilitation project is assessed to the property owners as part of the City’s Assessment Policy.
