The Zumbro River Watershed was assessed recently for its biological health. A total of twenty eight streams, encompassing four different counties (Goodhue, Wabasha, Olmsted, Dodge) were not meeting biological standards and began a process called stressor identification, which identifies the reasons contributing to the biological stress. The identification process and resulting information will be presented on the various streams in the watershed, while also looking at some specific cases where stormwater runoff and flow alteration can impact biological integrity.
