Approve the request from Chief Peterson dated July 6, 2017, for the Mayor to appointment 6 fulltime Police Officers, effective August 17, 2017, due to the transfer of Officer Mockenhaupt to a civilian position; the promotion of Officer Jeardeau to Sergeant; the resignation of Officers Vang and Stockdale; and the retirement of Officers Belisle and Bray.
Agenda Item 5
Approve the request from Chief Peterson dated July 6, 2017, to begin the examination process for the promotional positions of Police Sergeant and Lieutenant in order to develop an eligibility list to replace the current lists that expires on October 15, 2017.

Continue discussion pertaining to the composition of the interview panel for promotional positions.
Police Civil Service Commission Rule 15B
Police Sergeant
The oral interview panel shall consist of four (4) members including one (1) member of the Rochester Police Civil Service Commission, two (2) members of the Rochester Police Department command staff, and one (1) member, either active or retired, of command staff from outside the Rochester Police Department.
Police Lieutenant
The oral interview panel shall consist of four (4) members including one (1) member of the Rochester Police Civil Service Commission, two (2) members of the Rochester Police Department command staff; and one (1) member, either active or retired, of a command staff from outside the Rochester Police Department.
Police Captain
The oral interview panel shall consist of four (4) members including one (1) member of the Rochester Police Civil Service Commission, two (2) members of command staff from outside the Rochester Police Department, and one (1) community member. (Changed 4/20/2017)
Police Civil Service Commission Rule 15A
Police Officer
The interview panel should consist of two members of the Rochester Police Department, one Commission member, and one citizen.
