Approve minutes from the September 7, 2017, meeting.

Certification of Police Officer Eligibility Register.

Certification of Community Service Officer Eligibility Register.

Agenda Item 4

Approve the request from Chief Peterson dated November 21, 2017, for the Mayor to appointment one (1) fulltime Police Sergeant and one (1) fulltime Police Lieutenant, effective December 7, 2017. This request will eliminate the temporary Sergeant and Lieutenant appointments previously approved by the Commission.

Agenda Item 5

Police Chief recruitment proposal from HR Director, Linda Hillenbrand.

Section 19 of the Police Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations provides the Commission will establish guidelines for the selection of the Police Chief, which includes, but not restricted to:

Establishment of the minimum requirements for employment
Applications will not be limited to Rochester Police Department employees
Establishment of valid examinations and interview procedures and scoring weights
The scoring from the examination and interview procedures will establish a ranking of candidates for an eligibility register which the Mayor will conditionally appoint one.

Agenda Item 6

Jeffery Stobbs Termination Hearing. See Chief Peterson’s letter dated November 1, 2017, recommending termination of Police Officer Jeffery Stobbs. This hearing is being held pursuant to MS 419.11 Police Civil Service Rule 25.

Next (Annual) Meeting: February 5, 2018

Section 2 of the Police Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations provide that the Commission shall hold a regular meeting on the first Monday of February each year.
