DESCRIPTION:<p align="center"><b><u>MEETING NOTICE</u></b></p><p align="center">POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION<br>DATE: <b>Thursday,&nbsp; July 26, 2018<br></b>TIME: 3:00 PM<br>LOCATION: City Hall Conference Room 320 </p><p align="center">&nbsp;</p><p align="center"><b>A G E N D A</b></p><p><b><u>&nbsp;</u></b></p><p><b><u>Call to order&nbsp;</u></b></p><p><b><u>Agenda Item 1</u></b></p><p>Approve minutes from the June 5, 2018, meeting.&nbsp;</p><p><b><u>Agenda Item 2</u></b></p><p>Approve the request from Interim Police Chief John Sherwin, dated July 10, 2018, for the Mayor to temporarily appoint the name highest on the Captain’s Eligibility Register pursuant to Rule 21A, due to Captain Moilanen’s enrollment in the FBI’s National Academy.&nbsp; The appointment is to be retroactive to July 9, 2018, through September 24, 2018.&nbsp;</p><p><b><u>Agenda Item 3</u></b></p><p>Approve the request from Interim Police Chief John Sherwin, dated July 16, 2018, for the Commission to adopt rule changes with respect to the continuous recruitment process for the entry-level positions of Police Officer and Community Service Officer, relating to the restructuring of the various phases of the recruitment process and the assigned weighting.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><b><u>Agenda Item 4</u></b></p><p>Approve the request from Interim Police Chief John Sherwin, dated July 16, 2018, for the Mayor to appoint on .75 FTE Community Service Officer (CSO) effective the start of the next pay period. This request will eliminate the temporary CSO appointment previously approved by the commission.<b><u>&nbsp;</u></b></p><p><b><u>Other Business</u></b></p><p>Police Civil Service Commission Rule, Section 1 has been amended as follows:<b><u>&nbsp;</u></b></p><p>SECTION 1.&nbsp; <u>MEMBERSHIP:</u></p><p>The Commission shall consist of three (3) Commissioners, each of whom is appointed by the <s>Mayor</s> <u>Council</u> of the City of Rochester to serve a three (3) year term.&nbsp; Active membership requirements pursuant to Section 7.021 (Limitations on Continued Service) and Section 7.022 (Limitations on Length of Service) of the City of Rochester Home Rule Charter.&nbsp;</p><p>The elective officers of the Commission shall be a President and a Secretary.&nbsp; The election of each officer shall take place annually at the time and place of the regular February meeting of the Commission.</p><p>&nbsp;This Rule was inconsistent with MS 419.02, Subd. 1, and as a result, needed to be changed.&nbsp; No Commission approval is necessary.<b><u> </u></b></p><p><b><u>Adjournment</u></b></p>
