Rochester Police Department is investigating after locating two people deceased with gunshot wounds inside an apartment in northeast Rochester. Initial investigation indicate the deaths were a result of homicide and suicide.

On June 27, officers were dispatched to 124 Sandbar Court NE for a welfare check and found the bodies of a son, age 30, and his mother, age 54, inside the son’s apartment. The bodies had been there for some time. Officers recovered a handgun by the son’s body. No other individuals are being sought in this case.

The names of the deceased are not being shared at this time, pending notification of family.
